WELCOME TO FREEWILL
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Freewill Labs LLC ("Freewill," "we," "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Freewill iOS app or accessing downloadfreewill.app (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms.
If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
WHAT FREEWILL IS
Freewill is a 30-day social confidence app grounded in evidence-based principles from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, neuroplasticity, and habit stacking. We deliver one daily challenge to help you practice stepping outside your shell.
Important: Freewill is a wellness and self-improvement tool. It is not medical care, therapy, or a replacement for professional mental health treatment. If you're experiencing severe anxiety, depression, or thoughts of self-harm, please contact a licensed mental health professional or call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) in the US.
YOUR ACCOUNT
You must be at least 13 years old to use Freewill. If you're under 18, you confirm a parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms.
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us immediately at tkessel@downloadfreewill.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
SUBSCRIPTIONS & BILLING
Plans
- Free — Days 1–7 daily challenges; one challenge per week after; no streak protection
- Freewill Pro — $7.99/month or $39.99/year. Full 30-day access, unlimited shuffles, streak protection
- Freewill Custom — Approximately $9.99/month or $49.99 one-time. AI-personalized challenge tracks based on your survey responses
How billing works
All subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Free trial
If we offer a free trial, you can cancel anytime before it ends to avoid being charged. We'll send a reminder before billing begins.
Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel your subscription anytime through your Apple ID Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled by Apple per their refund policy.
WHAT YOU CAN AND CAN'T DO
You agree not to:
- Use Freewill for anything illegal, harmful, or harassing
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code
- Share your subscription with people outside your household
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute our content without permission
- Use the app to record other people without their consent during challenges
- Pretend to be someone else or misrepresent yourself
YOUR CONTENT
If you submit feedback, survey responses, or other content to us, you keep ownership but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content to operate and improve the Service. We won't publish identifiable personal details from Freewill Custom surveys publicly.
OUR CONTENT
The Freewill name, logo, hermit crab mascot, challenge content, designs, and all underlying technology are owned by Freewill Labs LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You get a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Nothing else.
DISCLAIMERS
Freewill is provided "as is." We work hard to make it useful and reliable, but we don't guarantee specific outcomes. Social confidence is personal — your mileage may vary, and your effort matters more than any app.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Freewill Labs LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $50, whichever is greater.
INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to defend and indemnify Freewill Labs LLC and its founders against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
TERMINATION
You can stop using Freewill anytime by deleting your account in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Provisions that should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) will continue to apply after termination.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Tennessee, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
