WHO WE ARE

Freewill ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Freewill Labs LLC. We're a small team building a 30-day social confidence app grounded in CBT, exposure therapy, neuroplasticity, and habit stacking principles. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Freewill iOS app and our website at downloadfreewill.app.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a chosen display name (or "crab name"). We never see your Apple ID password.

App usage data

We collect data about how you use Freewill so we can improve it and provide the streaks, levels, and progress features:

• Challenges you complete, skip, or shuffle
• XP earned, level reached, streak length
• Day number you're on in the 30-day journey
• Anonymous performance and crash data

Subscription data

Freewill Pro and Freewill Custom subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store and managed via RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status, renewal date, and product purchased. We never see your full payment information.

Freewill Custom AI personalization data

If you opt into Freewill Custom, we collect your responses to the personalization survey, including:

• Areas of life where social anxiety affects you most
• Specific fears and worst-case scenarios you describe
• Self-assessed severity ratings
• Personal goals and what you'd be doing if your fear was gone

This information is sent to our AI partners only to generate your personalized challenge track. It is never used to train third-party models, never sold, and never tied to advertising.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

• To provide the core 30-day journey and track your progress
• To generate AI-personalized challenges (Freewill Custom only)
• To process subscriptions and manage your account
• To send you essential service emails (e.g., password resets, subscription updates)
• To analyze aggregate, anonymized usage trends to improve the app
• To respond when you contact support

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, behavioral ad tracking, or selling to data brokers. Period.

WHO WE SHARE DATA WITH

We share data only with service providers we need to run Freewill:

• Supabase — secure database hosting for your account and progress data
• RevenueCat — subscription management and receipt validation
• Apple — App Store payment processing
• AI providers — only Freewill Custom survey responses, only to generate your track

We do not sell your data. We do not share data with advertisers.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can:

• View and edit your account information from the in-app Settings screen
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings
• Request a copy of your data by emailing us
• Cancel your subscription anytime through your Apple ID settings

If you're located in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA, including the right to access, correct, port, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

DATA RETENTION

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal information from our active systems within 30 days. Backups are purged on a rolling 90-day cycle. Anonymized aggregate analytics may be retained indefinitely.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Freewill is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

SECURITY

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and notify you promptly if a breach affects you.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Freewill after changes means you accept the updated policy.
